Please click on the link below to view the CAMHL Rules and Format.  Please also see below some of the primary changes from last year and the top line format.

Any Team that forfeits a game will be fined: $250
The CAMHL has tools to help teams garner goalie and player back up so forfeits should not occur.

Topline Game Format / Rules
-All CAMHL games will have a scheduled ice slot of 60 minutes and will be played as 1 – 60 minute running time ice slot.  Games are 7:00am to 8:00am.  There will be no stoppage of play for periods.
-Players can only change when there is a goal or a penalty.
-There are no icing calls.
-There are no slap shots allowed in the CAMHL.  When shooting sticks are not able to go higher than the players waist.  Anything higher than waist level will cause a whistle down of the play and a faceoff in the offending team’s zone.
-Each team will be permitted one 30 second time out each game BUT NOT WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF THE END OF GAME.  Since the time is running this would just be an easy way for winning teams to take up time.
-Any game that has a goal differential of 10 will still continue.  It is up to the losing team and the official to proceed with the game.  If the losing team still wishes to play then play will resume.  However if the officials feel there is risk of excessive rough play, Officials will have the right to end the game due to high risk of rough play.
-If at 2 minutes left in the game, the score is within 1 goal or tied, there will be stop time.  If the leading team scores to make it 2 goals ahead, then running time once again ensues.
-One player can score a MAXIMUM of 3 goals per game.  If that same player scores more than three goals, then the play will be stopped and a face off at centre ice will ensue.
-If a Goalie is hit in the mask with a shot and the puck goes immediately into the net, it will be counted as a goal.  If a Goalie is hit in the mask and the puck does not go into the net immediately, then the play will automatically be called down and a face off to take place in that goalies zone.  This is to protect the safety of the goalies.
-When a team gets a lone penalty, the face off will immediately take place in the offending teams zone.
-Officials and Timekeepers are expected to be on ice 5 minutes before game time with score sheets completed for game start at 7:00am.
-The centre red line will NOT be used when considering icings or 2 line passes
-NEW If a Team plays an unregistered player will be penalized by having a penalty shot awarded to the other team.  There will be one penalty shot awarded for each unregistered player played.  Once this has been identified, the unregistered players must leave the ice to register with their phones and show the Timekeeper the screen shot fo the confirmation email that you receive once registered.  This rule is in place as players stats and game tracking must be recorded and there are major delays scoring games.

Game Start Time Rules
-Teams are required to have a minimum 5 skaters and a goalie on the ice and ready to play at game time scheduled to start at 7:00am.
-Officials will blow the whistle at 7am to signal the fact that permit time has started.  The Officials will again blow the whistle at the 57:00 mark to cue the teams to pack up pucks and line up for the opening face-off.
-THE PUCK WILL BE DROPPED AT 56:00 NO EXCEPTIONS (7:04am)
-If a team only has 5 players, the Officials are required to conduct 2 scheduled 2 minute play stoppages for rest.  Ideally at the 40 minute mark and the 20 minute mark of the game.
-In the event that one team has less than the required 5 players at game time, the game will be considered a forfeit at the expense of the team with not enough players.   EXCEPTION to this rule is if the opposing team agrees to ‘donate’ players of their own to the other team as spares in order to fill the required number of players, the game will then proceed.  Both officials and the timekeeper will be required to conduct their duties and the game will be recorded as an official match.
If a goalie is unavailable at that time, the team without the goalie may use 6 players noting the opposing team can score on the empty net from INSIDE THE BLUE LINE ONLY.  If the team without the goalie has less than 6 skaters, the team will forfeit the game at a score of 5-0.
